In the early 1870s, he started working at William T. Frank's Apothecaries Hall, Reno's first drugstore. The store burnt down multiple times and was rebuilt, and Myers came on as a partner (now Frank & Myers). Myers took a break from the drugstore business in the second half of the 1870s, before opening his own drugstore in late 1879. In 1882, he hired SJ Hodgkinson as a clerk and Hodgkinson eventually took over the business in 1884. Myers had a tragic end to his life after selling the business. He became addicted to morphine and died of an overdose at age 35 in 1885. [See Volume Two of the Nevada Bottle Book]
