This is a unique bullion shipment document the likes of which we have not seen before. On this document famous US Deputy Marshal John slaughter, known to every outlaw aficionado, orders gold to be shipped from the Bank of California through his account on the Cochise County bank in tombstone to be sent to the Wells Fargo agent in no Gallus for purchase of items in New Mexico, which we assume were cattle for his ranching interests. On this document slaughter will receive $2585 for which the bank will charge him $425 for the transfer. It signed by the bullion clerk for the Bank of California in San Francisco JP Allen dated January 4, 1886. In all of the archive of the Bank of California which I have personally worked on for several decades, I have never seen a document like this. It's tied to one of the Western's great law men is also incredibly important. [ Tombstone Arizona
