Set of 13 sepia toned RPC pioneer postcards related to John Till, the "Plaster Doctor" who practiced medicine in the State of Wisconsin without a license from 1905-08. One postcard is of a poem written about the infamous healer. All are blank and in good condition. The colorful history includes thousands lining up daily for Till to smear plaster on them to cure all kinds of ailments, while wearing overalls and a gold ring in each ear. Sentenced to six months in prison, after public outcry, he was told to leave the country. He went to Austria but eventually returned to the U.S.
