This lot of Joseph L. Folsom ephemera includes a bank note from San Francisco bank of Page, Bacon & Co. with a beautiful vignette of the bank building with J.L. Folsom's signature dated January 24, 1855 printed by LeCount & Strong Litho. by Britton & Rey. 2/3/4 in. X 7 3/4 in. with stamp cancelled. A postal cover addressed to Mrs. Mary Folsom in Bloomfield, Maine from Columbia, Ca. 3 in. X 5 1/2 in. "care of Maj. A. Wyman" without any postage stamp. It was Col. J. L. Folsom Assistant Quartermaster Genl. who was in charge of the military express mail, therefore no charge for postage at that time. There is a map of San Francisco bay dated May 29. 1848 by Capt. J. L. Folsom delicate copy at 9 1/2 in. X 11 1/2 in.
