Very rare. "Bodie District, Mono Co., Cal." printed under vignette. Incorporated in 1878. Cert. #939, issued to G. B. Bayley, Trustee for 40 shares on July 19, 1879 in San Francisco. Signed by A.J. Ralston as president and E.C. Ulaster as secretary. A. J. Ralston was the brother of William Chapman Ralston, the Bank of California magnate. Ralston would serve time as the Bank of California representative on the Comstock. And he was involved with the V&T Railroad. While brother William was in Washington D. C. as United States Senator, A. J. would oversee his mining ventures. That includes Bodie! Great vignette of a seated allegorical man gripping an eagle. Black border and print on creme paper.
