Two related companies' records: The Keating Carey Land Company Stock Ledger and Journal; and the Keating Canal Company Cash Book and Minute Book. The latter was founded to "own, acquire, hold, manage, control, operate, and maintain irrigations systems built in Lemni County, Idaho, by the former, according to the Articles of Incorporation at the front of the Minute Book. The Articles are incorporated in Silver Bow, Montana. The Minute Book contains numerous pages of onion-skin paper which appear to be blue and black carbon copies of the documented meetings of the company. It also includes the By-Laws of the Keating Canal Company and at least one Power of Attorney document, all related to the relationship between the two companies. The 78-page (each pair of facing pages is given the same page number) Keating Canal Company Cash Book records the expenses, advances, taxes, payments, and deposits on pages 1 and 2. The remaining pages of the Cash Book are blank. The Stock Ledger and Journal is divided into three sections: a tabbed index at the front, followed by a 74-page (individual page numbering) record for each shareholder on a separate page listing their stock transactions; and a 38-page (this time numbered by front-back page pairs) Transfer Journal recording the issue and surrender of stock. Pages 6-38 remain blank. Earliest issued date is 1912, and the 1atest cancellation date is 1922. All three are 9 x 14 inches, with bindings intact.
