Very ornate and attractive bond certificate issued in 1890. Cert. #433, $100, First Mortgage Bond. Full name was Kentucky Southern Oil & Gas Company of Louisville, Kentucky. Nice vignette of buildings, oil tanks, a train approaching the trestle and a horse drawn carriage. Black on creme. with reddish borders. The company was composed of mostly Pittsburgh capitalists, and the company was refining Kentucky crude at Oil City, Barren County, Kentucky (Paint, Oil & Drug Review, 1890). Uncancelled. Six coupons attached at the bottom.
