Stock Certificate from the King GMC. Incorporated in 1866 in Mass. Certificate number 73 issued on 9/3/1866, at Nevada, Gilpin County, Colorado. Issued to D. Bugbee & Co. Signed by W. H. Richardson and Geo. B. Nichols. Size 9 by 6 inches. Not cancelled. Torn/tattered around edges n(please see photo). 25 cent revenue stamp. Black border. Revenue stamp. According to Hollister, this company owned No. 5, half of No. 6 west (two shafts, 130 ft. deep), and No. 3 east on the Nottoway Lode. They also have 200 feet on the Dorchester (50 ft. shaft); 300 ft. on the Golden Wedge (30 ft. shaft); and a 12-stamp mill in the gulch. W.A. Abbee is agent. Calls the Nottoway "one of the best veins in the country" [pg. 179].
