May 20, 1907. Letter from United States Senator to Warren Williams - Churchill County political boss. Nixon is wondering what happened. John O'Brien was appointed on February 27th when the post office became official. But he has declined to accept. Signed by George Nixon. Obviously Kingston just didn't pan out as the post office was rescinded on July 30, 1907. This is probably the only piece of Kingston, Churchill County postal history you will ever see! Kingston was near Wonder, Nevada, had been platted only two months before the post office was approved, and there were less than 25 citizens when living there when the post office was officially opened. Long history of the area is included. State: Nevada City: Kingston, Churchill Date: HWAC# 99378
