This is a wonderful and rare 20 ga. L.C. Smith field grade shotgun. It was built in 1924 according to factory records. It is a fine specimen of the L.C.Smith shotgun line in a rare bore size and length. It is a 20 gauge SXS shotgun with 30 in. barrels which makes for a very hansom looking gun. The S/N 6501X is stamped on the water-table as well as the on the fore-end hardware. The left bore measures .614 in. while the right bore measures .617 in. The underside of the barrels are marked "Armor Steel". The overall length of the gun is 46 1/4 in. and LOP is at 14 in. The water-table is marked 6501X Frame size at "00", " Pat'd JULY 13, 86 and Pat'd OCT 5-86". The rib is marked "Hunter Arms, Co. Fulton, New York". This gun features double triggers, a splinter fore-end, a semi-pistol grip, and a hard plastic butt-plate. The barrels are fully blued and retain most of the original appearance for color and polish. There are several minor dents in the exterior; one on the left barrel, and two on the right barrel. All dents are not visible on the interior of the bore. Craftsmanship on these barrels are unmatched by today's craftsmen. The locks were originally case-hardened but now patinated grey with the L. C. Smith name prominently marked on each lock-plate.
