Uncancelled Edison signature! Inc. in New Jersey. Low certificate number 13, issued for 10 shares to treasurer Harry F. Miller on March 1st, 1916. Signed by Thomas Edison as president and Miller as treasurer. Not cancelled. Brown border, black print, and state seal vignette. Printed by Adams & Grace, New York. 8 x 11.75" Staple holes, some soiling. Reverse has notations on transfer of shares, some to Charles Edison. This company was incorporated in New Jersey on March 29, 1907, to sell phonographs, records, kinetoscopes, films, and other Edison products. It maintained a branch office in Buenos Aires. The company was dissolved on April 16, 1920. Thomas Edison (1847-1931) is often thought of as "America's greatest inventor." He developed many devices related to electric power generation, mass communication, sound recording, and motion pictures, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and early versions of the electric light bulb.
