Lot of 13 items related to the La Grange Mine, Weaverville, Trinity County, CA. 11 billheads, stapled together, dated Sept 1 - 9, 1899, for lumber provided to the mine by Blake & Reed ("Dealers in Lumber of All Kinds), handwriting still legible. Slight tearing in edges, some browning but otherwise in good shape. Also included are what appear to be two newspaper or magazine clip outs of advertisements from businesses in Weaverville, Tehama and Chico. Note: the La Grange Mine was once the largest hydraulic mine in California, yielding over $3,5M in gold since hydraulic mining began on the site in 1892. Large-scales operations ceased in 1918.
