La Junta is located along the Arkansas River, 68 miles east of Pueblo & along the Old Sante Trail.

1.) THE ARKANSAS VALLEY BOTTLING WORKS/LA JUNTA/COLORADO. Aqua & measures 6 7/8 inches tall. Base is unmarked and shows case wear. Wiped top with minor external nicks. Marked 40 on front near base. Preble dates this c. 1903-1907. Noticeable external case wear throughout, especially near the base. Still a cool bottle with neat bubbling within the glass. Preble s. 217. The bottle has been lightly polished.
2.) THE ARKANSAS VALLEY BOTTLING WORKS.LA JUNTA/COLORADO. Purple & measures 6 7/8 inches tall. Base is marked with a circle with the line through it marking. This is a variation of the first bottle according to Preble. External case wear evident throughout bottle, especially near the base, on the base, lip and shoulders. Hazy appearance on interior; may possibly be cleaned. Lip chips & horizontal scratch marks on reverse. Minor staining on reverse above base. Stain throughout & Surface wear throughout; needs polishing. A hint of iridescence may be seen around the shoulder, as well as the base. Note the external case wear at bottom around where No. 40 is marked. White lettering on the slug plate. s. 217a per Preble. 1903-07.
3.) CROWN BOTTLING WORKS/LA JUNTA/J.R. PEARSON. Clear & measures 6 7/8 inches tall. Base marked CBW. No. 40 marked on front near base. Signs of case wear at and around base and up to the shoulder of the bottle. Very minor nicks at lip. External scratch marks at lip & shoulder. Overall good clarity and may even improve with cleaning. Preble s. 218. 1903-05. Tooled top.
