The Ladies of the Maccabee used the acronym LOTM between 1886 and 1926 as an all women run benefit society. From the name "Maccabees" we get "Hive" as the local societies were called. We have six like new condition pin-badges marked "L.O.T.M./ Virginia Hive/ No.7/ Virginia City, Mont." This society of women reached an impasse when trying to expand past the Michigan state "hive" that was never resolved. Here are six pins-badges in like new condition with one still in the mailer. A great piece of Montana history in mining towns.
