Noyes and secretary Wm. Van Bokkelen. Not cancelled. Attractive design with red and blue print and two vignettes: mine with water wheel (center) and allegorical woman (left). Printed by HS Crocker & Co., Sacramento. Folds, stains, possible burn marks? 25 cent US IR stamp attached at upper left. 4.25 x 9.25" Listed in Collins 1864 as being in the Gold Hill District with an office at 22 S. C Street. Wm. Van Bokkelen and his brother Jacob were early prominent citizens of Virginia City. (Jacob Van Bokkelen died in a nitroglycerin explosion in Virginia City in 1873 that killed 10 people).
