Additional ad inserts throughout directory pages, many on pink paper, some cardstock. This book is a TREASURE TROVE for advertising collectors, with hundreds of incredible, very attractive ads, many with great illustrations of the city, buildings, businesses, products, horse-drawn tollies, steam boats, trains, equipment, industrial subject matter, engineering inventions, instruments, factories, foundries, agricultural implements, city street scenes, wind mills, new patents, and so much more. A fascinating "General History" is filled with interesting details. Inside pages are in good condition; no missing pages, a few spots and some discoloration. Incredible illustrated ads, many on blue paper. Original covers and spine; front board split on inside hinge but still attached; backboard starting to split at hinges but attached. Covers are legible, but spine is badly worn, missing chunks at top and bottom edges, cracked, rubbed, etc. Wear to cover corners, and fading, some rips at edges no holes, corners worn. See photos for condition details. Overall, good condition --holding together, no loose pages, binding still ok. This directory originally contained a map, but it was removed from this copy. A RARE, EARLY Directory.
