Stock Certificate from the Laramie, Hahns Peak & Pacific Railway Co. Certificate number 336 issued in 1912 to James O' Hara Jr. Signed by president Kuegel. Size 9.5 by 6.5 inches. Staining bottom center and bottom left. Not cancelled. This is a certificate of deposit with the federal trust company. Common stock. Plain certificate. Organized in 1901 by Isaac Van Horn who wanted to build a railroad to the mining camps of Gold Hill and Centennial located west of Laramie. They did not reach Centennial until 1907, when mining had already declined. They decided to turn south and build toward North Park, Colorado. The company bought a coal deposit near Walden and created the camp of Coalmont. The line reached Walden and Coalmont in late 1911, but it was too expensive to maintain, so they sold to Colorado, Wyoming and Eastern Railroad in 1914.
