18 post cards. Sepia, color, black and white. Includes 2 Victor and Cripple Creek postmarks. Six white border early (pre-1908) post cards (same view). "Independence Mine and Battle Mountain, Cripple Creek District." Three color post cards of the "Independence Mine, Goldfield, Cripple Creek, District, Colorado." One "Portland and Independence Mine color. One color "Independence Mine and Mill, Sold for $11,000,000. One color mine and railroad tracks. Two sepia, same view. Three black and whites. FINALLY one "Independence and Portland Mine"s published by W. A. Loper. Back says "Private Mailing Card, Authorized by Act of Congress of May 19, 1898, Unused.A look at just one of these post cards shows the size and, therefore, value of this mine. One would think that everyone could profit from he owner to the miner. However, this mine was a at the heart of the union trouble sin 1904.
