Strong provenance for this large scale. Inside box it says used to weigh 450,000 grams by Martin Rohrig. Morning Glory Mine, Alleghany. This piece was brought to us by a relative of the miner. Martin is found throughout the book "The Voices Still Echo in the Canyons, a Picture History of Alleghany" by Bud Buczkowke. Martin Rohrig discovered the vein of the Morning Glory Mine in 1893.
