Laurens Railroad, started in 1854, was 32-mile line railroad that served South Carolina Upstate region before, during and after the Civil War. By 1861, it carried 8,500 a day. Was discontinued after Civil War. By 1881 it was reorganized and became Laurens Railway. Bought by the Columbia, Newberry and Laurens Railroad.
