A cabinet card photograph and a stereoscope card featuring views of Harrison Avenue and Chestnut Street in Leadville, Colorado, a historic silver mining town, c. late 1800s. The cabinet card gives a clear view of the storefront signs along Harrison Avenue, including stores such as Crockery and Glassware, Wholesale Liquors, George L. Bolt Books and Stationery, Boston Clothing House, and a drugstore simply labelled 'DRUGS.' Restaurants such as French John and the Parlor Restaurant are also visible. The reverse side of the cabinet card reads 'Harrison Ave', and the reverse of the stereoscope card has an advertisement for Gurnsey's Rocky Mountain Views, the address from which the photo was taken, and a short description of the city's lucrative mining industry.
