Prospectus from the Leadville MC - 1878. Located in the Leadville. Average condition. Eight pages. Includes note on inspection by SS Robinson. Two pages from the superintendent on the Carbonate Mine. Notes on roads, mills, other mines, etc. Includes a year of ore statements. Letter size! Silver was discovered on Carbonate Hill in 1877 and proved extremely profitable. In 1878 New York and Colorado men purchased. The property organized the Leadville Mining Company thereon with a capital of $2 000 000 in ten dollar shares the property has since been as the Leadville mine. Afterwards the adjoining Shamrock was purchased and a company formed thereon. The Leadville owns a portion of the stock and the mines are reported as consolidated. Several inclines have been driven in on the vein of Leadville. [Fossett]
