Lot of 4. 1) Three page letter plus corner advertising cover for SP Gutshall, Lumber Dealer in Leadville. Message written on May 15th, 1885 from JE Dickinson to his niece Cora in Illinois. "I like Leadville very much as a home for a few years but would not want to make it a permanent home. But here there is always something to give a man hope, and lots of excitement and that is what I like." "Some times I stop and think of how quietly I used to live at home on the farm and it seems to me that it would kill me to go back to such a life..." 2) 1880 letter and cover to Eliza Ballard in Maine from H. Cogg. "This week I have been working on my claim where I was last winter. The shaft is one hundred and fifty feet deep. We don't find what we want yet." 2pp. 3) Cabinet card by Payne & Stockdorf, Leadville.
