Six pages of ledger entries. The entries reflect payments from Kimball & Cutting, the major regional lumber yard in Murphy's, reflecting K&C's hauling records, the delivery of Kimball & Cuttings products (mostly lumber) to various mines, people or merchants. 1865-1867. Some of the people are: J. Frazier, Eldridge Reynolds, Michael Moran, W.R. Ward, C.P. Morrill , and dozens of others. One entry has a Federal revenue stamp placed and cancelled, "Oct. 31, 1867, KC" (KC=Kimball & Cutting). Some receipts are for labor ("seven days labor at mill", probably the K&C lumber mill). Chinese writing in several locations, indicating a Chinese was working for K&C.
