Exquisite carved turquoise (Leekya stone) (Chief figure) with matching silver detail. The carved stone artist did not sign the piece, but the silver work is by Savage. 3 x 4". net weight 145 grams. Mr. Savage did the silver work on several of the large pieces in this collection from Frank Lewton, who acquired most pieces in the 1970s. The Leekya stone turquoise comes from the Leekya family turquoise mine, and is discussed in fair detail elsewhere in this sale. It is entirely possible that this piece was carved by one of the Leekya family, though not by the senior patriarch. [] [] [] [] []
