This beautiful legal document lists the brands and identifications of cattle missing or stolen by Indians or others between New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. John Chism's name appears along with E. Peter an agent and William Beddo attorney. This document of October 27, 1871 filed in Coleman County lists cattle and a few horses by brand location and identifying markings. These men listed want their cattle back. All great reading and a piece of Texas history. 6.5 in. X 16 in. foxing, fold and a torn corner.
