Rare Leather Holster from Anchorage, Alaska stamped on belt loop on reverse with "Leonard Hopkins & Co. Anchorage Alaska" in oval maker's mark stamp, "435" stamped beneath oval, and under belt loop "R.B." in large rough letters. Dark brown leather with snap flap, well used but still in good condition. Will clean up beautifully with leather soap and conditioner. We found record of Leonard Hopkins Co. in the Guide to the Alaska-Pacific Consolidated Mining Company records 1885-1989 in the Archives and Special Collections holdings at the UAA/APU Consortium Library indicating the company only operated for 4 years between 1938 and 1942. Research determined Leonard Hopkins was a prominent businessman in Anchorage at the time involved with the organization and early support of the United Service Organization in Anchorage during WWII.
