# 12859 for 100 shares to W Crandall trustee. Signed by President Fred Coffin and RH Brown 1878. Inc in Nevada in 1874. Mine in Cornucopia mining district near Jarbridge. Nice leopard vignette from Brittan & Rey. Many pin holes and one folded corner. Light discoloration. According to Thompson and West (1881, p. 393), silver ores were discovered and the district was organized in 1872. The excitement led to the town of Cornucopia. The Leopard Mining Company built a 10 stamp mill which was destroyed by fire. There are two principal mines in the district, the Leopard which was* the larger and the Panther. The Leopard shaft was said to be 5OO ft deep, but the deep workings are caved. (Emmons, 1910, p. 62). Notes taken from scripophily.com. Prag Collection
