A typed and signed letter from writer and conservationist Louis Bromfield, dated April 12, 1944. The letterhead reads Malabar Farm, Lucas, Ohio.
Louis Bromfield was an American writer and conservationist. A bestselling novelist in the 1920s, he reinvented himself as a farmer in the late 1930s and became one of the earliest proponents of sustainable and organic agriculture in the United States.
He was also a Hollywood screenwriter, penning such films as "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (Based on the Ernest Hemingway novel), "Mrs. Parkington" starring Greer Garson and "Brigham Young" starring Tyrone Power and others. The letter is in nice condition. Written by a real Renaissance Man. Oh, and he won a Pulitzer Prize. Please see photos for more details. [ Lucas Ohio
