This is a typed and signed letter by noted author James A. Michener (1907-1997) to noted concert pianist Anton Rovinsky (1895-1966) Michener was famous for such literary works as "The Bridges of Toko-ri," "Tales of the South Pacific," "Hawaii" and "Centennial" among others. The letter is in response to Rovinsky inquiring as to Michener's health after his recent heart attack. Ironically, this letter was written less than two months before Rovinsky's own health would fail him, resulting in his passing on March 6, 1966. The letter is addressed to Rovinsky's box at Carnegie Hall, New York City. It is written on Michener's own letterhead stationery and comes with its original cover which is addressed to Rovinsky's residence on Avenue C in the city. Please see photos for more detail and condition.
