1930 typed letter signed by Chris Madsen stating a picture of his old friend Sharp Nose must have been taken when Sharp Nose was sober, as it did not look as Madsen remembered him. "Chris Madsen was a lawman of the Old West who is best known as being one of The Three Guardsmen, the name given to Madsen and two other Deputy US Marshals who were responsible for the apprehension and/or killing of several outlaws of that era. The Three Guardsmen consisted of Madsen, Bill Tilghman, and Heck Thomas." 10x8" with left side damage. Mounted photo of Madsen with Arapaho scouts, 6.5x4.75", center crease, corner chip.
