# 2 to JVB Perry. Signed by Lewis Hyntman and president George Seitz. Dateline Austin June 29, 1864. Incorporated May 1864 (hand written). 25c Power of Att'y Revenue Stamp. Not cancelled. Location: San Antonio District, Nye County, N. T. Allegorical lady with American flag vignette. WB Cooke & Co. printer. Slight dog ear and small nick upper right. Overall in very nice condition. JVB Perry was a U.S. Marshall and then constable in Virginia City in 1863/64. He is also later listed as a saloon owner in Eureka, Nevada in the 1884 Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming and Arizona Gazetteer and Business Directory. This stock was not in Filer. On May 17th, 1864, the Liberty Silver Mining Company acquired 1400 feet in claims from A. Buehm, A.D. Recabarren, Antonio Elena, Jose Maria Gonzales, Rafael Robles, A.S. Egleston, Justin A. Cook, M. Echandia, A. Robinson, and H.D. Fletcher (Nye County Recorder 1864b, A18). Records appear to show A.D. Recabarran, who was involved in the Liberty Silver Mining Company in mid-1864, specifically shipped ore from the Libertad Ledge in San Antonio to San Pedro Canyon. The San Antonio Mining District was organized in 1863. It was located in a low range of mountains that lie across the south end of Smoky Valley. The name was derived from the name of a stage station to the north. San Antonio includes the camps of Liberty (as in our stock name), on the west side of range, and Cimmaron, at the north end of range.
