Lot of five autographs of people associated with Abraham Lincoln: 1) Burton C. Cook (1819-1894) U. S. Representative from Illinois; twice placed Lincoln in nomination for the Presidency. 6 x 2 inch paper "Burton C. Cook / Ottawa / Illinois"; 2) Sidney Breese (1800-1878) U. S. Senator from Illinois; 3 x 1 inch paper; 3) Ira Harris (1802-1875) U. S. Senator New York, friend of Lincoln and William Seward, (he replaced Seward in the Senate). Harris' daughter and step son were Lincoln's guests at Ford Theatre the night of his assassination and Booth stabbed the step son Rathbone in the arm when he tried to stop Booth from escaping. 4) Norman B. Judd, (1815-1878) U. S. Representative from Illinois. Delegate to the 1860 Republican Convention, helped engineer Lincoln's nomination. Denied a place in Lincoln's cabinet by opposition from Judge Davis and Mrs. Lincoln; 5 x 3 inches; 5) Jules Guerin (1866-1946) American painter best known for his murals in Lincoln Memorial in Washington D. C. 6 1/2 x 9 inch sheet dated June 23, 1922.
