Blanche Ford was the wife of the Owner of Ford's Theatre where Lincoln was assassinated. Bold signature, penned on a 4 x 2 1/2 inch card. Signed in black ink, "Blanche Chapman Ford Jan 9th 1929." Other than minor stains at the lower margin it is in fine condition. In 1921, she asked the U. S. Government for custody of the rocker Lincoln had been sitting in and after eight years she received the rocker. She sold it at auction and Henry Ford bought it for $2400. It is on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. A color post card of the rocking chair is included in this lot.
