Twenty seven Whitman #1 albums of the early part of Lincoln Cents,
1909-1940. This group came into the Tomahawk Indian Trading Post in
Russellvile Arkansas in the 1950s. In all of the albums, there is only one
1909s, no 1909 SVDB, two 1914D (G), two 1931S (F, VF), no 22plain. Four
coins were taken out and sent for grading. these coins are: 1909SVDB (PCGS
F12), 1909SVDB (PCGS Unc Detail), 1914D (PCGS VF detail, graffiti), 1922D
(PCGS VG8, Weak D). Five sets are nearly complete, missing, in general, only
those coins. Fifteen sets are missing a lot of coins, from about ten to
half. The other sets carry some key dates, such as 11S, 22D etc. The
condition varies greatly. Many sets have cleaned coins. This is part of the
Russellville hoard, and this is how they were collected by the average
collector in the 1950s. Most of the folks probably pulled these coins out
of circulation over time, as opposed to buying premium condition pieces from
a local coin shop. Please inspect.
