Thursday afternoon January 1, 1863 the Boston Music Hall hosted a Grand Jubilee Concert to celebrate The Emancipation Proclamation. Four page program printed by Franklin Printing House, 112 Congress Street. 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. The program featured the music of Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Handel, the finale being the Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah and Rossini's William Tell Overture. Boston had long been advocating emancipation, so this was certainly an emotional celebration. Light soiling, but very good condition.
