John E. Boos of Albany New York (1879-1974) was a widely known collector of Abraham Lincoln memorabilia. This two page, handwritten letter (6 1/2 x 9 paper) to Mr. Boos is from Isaac R. Diller, the last person living to have been photographed with Abraham Lincoln. Dated: Springfield, Illinois, 25 July 1942. Diller had just turned 88 years old. Mentions being the last living person to have been photographed with Lincoln and having seen him four times as a little boy. Tells the story of Wm. H. Herndon having dinner at his father-in-law's.
