Norman B. Judd (1815-1878), Illinois businessman and politician, served as a member of the Illinois Senate from 1844 to 1860. He served as delegate to the 1860 Republican National Convention. He was appointed Minister Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Prussia by President Abraham Lincoln on March 6, 1861, and served until 1865. This stock certificate for fifty shares in the Peoria & Bureau Valley Railroad Company is signed by N.B. Judd as company President. 6 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches. Dated March 9, 1858, New York City. Vignette of Indians watching a locomotive cross the prairie. Canceled with perforations and pen. Some staining, overall very good condition.
