Certificate No. 555 for 1000 shares of stock dated May 1, 1891 and made out to J. E. Miller. Incorporated in Colorado on June 10, 1863. Signed by president, B. Clark Wheeler and secretary, A. Peck. B. Clark Wheeler and his partner arrived in the Roaring Fork Valley to the town of "Ute City" in 1880 and purchased several mining claims. Wheeler surveyed a new town site, formed his own town company and named the new town Aspen. He was a promoter or Aspen and owned several businesses around Aspen. In 1885, Wheeler purchased the Aspen Weekly Times and changed it to a daily publication.
