Rare Colorado mining stock issued in 1881. The Livingstone Silver Mining Company was incorporated in Colorado in 1881. The company owned the Livingston lode, 1500 x 300 feet: situated on the south slope of Murphy Mountain, Chalk Creek Mining District, 2.5 mi. from St. Elmo. Located in 1879, the claim was patented in 1882. The lode was an extension of the Murphy vein, developed at four levels. The mill runs, when sorted, ran from one to two ounces gold and 90 ounces silver per ton (1883, Colorado Mining Directory, Corregan & Lingane). This is cert. #191, issued to Chas. J. Shoemaker and signed by James W. Latta as president and Lewis C. Greene as secretary. Nice mining vignette. A two inch tear at the top left fold has been archivally repaired on the verso. This company was not in the Filer collection and is rare. Uncanceled.
