Rarity 4. From Bowers & Merena's May 7, 1999 sale lot #2799. Well struck and semi-PL. MS65. The 1909 Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition pennyweight (DWT) gold token series was designed by Jules Charbneau and struck by his father-in-law J.E. Standley in Seattle. Although originally advertised as official souvenirs of the exposition, the exposition committee quickly objected and the claim was withdrawn. Jules Charbneau was known to sell and distribute these tokens for many years after the exposition ended. A set of 3 of these tokens was included in the "Coins of the Golden West" set.
