Three Lockey & Howland apple parer and peelers. They are actually in usable condition. My grandmother had one of these in her kitchen. It saved on slicing one's fingers while peeling or paring apples for pies. It also sped up the process. Lockey and Howland purchased Keyes business c1857 and manufactured the Keyes design under their own name as the Patent Turn-Table Apple Parer (J. D. Seagrave v Keys (sic)). In the summer of 1859 Lockey and Howland started advertising their parer in the American Agriculturist. These measure 7"x 7" and all appear in working order, save for a new blade. Nice kitchen art. I have the more modern version in my kitchen. Please see photos for more detail and condition. State: City: Date:1856 Provenance:
