We have sold railroad passes for over 30 years and have never seen anything like this. This is Chauncy M Depew's private and personalized pass for the London & North Western Railroad. English. Leather! 3 x 3.5". 1912. Folds out. Chauncey Mitchell Depew was an attorney for Cornelius Vanderbilt's railroad interests, president of the New York Central Railroad System, and a United States Senator from New York from 1899 to 1911. The London and North Western Railway was a British railway company between 1846 and 1922. In the late 19th century the L&NWR was the largest joint stock company in the world. In 1923 it became a constituent of the London, Midland and Scottish railway, and in 1948, the London Midland Region of British Railways: the LNWR is effectively an ancestor of today's West Coast Main Line.
