Choice! 1) Lawrence & Houseworth. Yellow. c1864. Shows a multi-hundred feet long tom in a deep channel which was cut into gravel. There is a bridge in the foreground and one behind. Large boulders are picked from the box and stacked to the side. 2)Thomas Houseworth. Orange. c1869-70. Shows an old cut channel to the right of the long tom. It was substantially higher up the slope than the long tom. This suggests that a deeper, lower trench (where the long tom sits) was needed to drain the main mining hydraulic area.
