Moses Sherman, the power behind creating the Los Angeles Consolidated Electric Railway moved to Los Angeles in 1890 to speculate in land. He operated a new electric railway to promote his land deals beginning in 1890. His electric railway company had secured a franchise that lasted for 1/2 century. June 16, 1903, the Los Angeles Pacific Railroad merged with the Los Angeles-Santa Monica Railroad Co. and the Los Angeles, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Railway Company.
