Large hardcover book, titled "Louisiana and The Fair. An Exposition of the World its People and their Achievements." Author is J.W. Buel, Ph.D. by the World's Progress Publishing Co. of Saint Louis. Filled with early history of the US, military and Indian wars, gold rush, and western expansion. The volume contains (13) photogravures illustrations, (33) monogravures illustrations, plus a 2-page colored map of the Louisiana Purchase, within the US Borders. The illustrations depict the landmarks discovered by Louise and Clark on their epic journey, like the Great Falls of the Missouri River, the mouth of the Columbia river, and Yellowstone Falls to name a few. 1186 pages in all, very rare especially in this fine condition. This would be a serious book for any collector.
