Lot of 2: Printed copies of a letter dateline New York, July 27th, 1878. States that the holder of mortgage bond No. 22 and No. 23 is entitled to 500 shares of stock. Live signatures of two trustees (Ruggle? and Jackson) on both documents. Folds, toning, some separation. According to the Boston Globe (Dec. 9th, 1878), the Eastport, Maine mining company had struck a rich vein of ore and had 100 tons on the surface from the 300 ft. level. They have 40 men employed who are installing more machinery. Ore is to be shipped to New York. The lead, zinc, and silver ore was assaying at 70% lead, 24 ounces of silver to the ton.
