Lot of 2. 1) Stock No. 346 issued for 220 shares to JD Brewster in 1878 in New York City. Signed by president Oliver Barnes and secretary Chas. Ware. Not cancelled. Two mining vignettes and one eagle vignette. Pinholes, folds. 2) $500 bond for the company, also issued in 1878, but with different corporate officers. Deep folds, some separation. According to the Boston Globe (Dec. 9th, 1878), this Eastport, Maine mining company had struck a rich vein of ore and had 100 tons on the surface from the 300 ft. level. They have 40 men employed who are installing more machinery. Ore is to be shipped to New York. The lead, zinc, and silver ore was assaying at 70% lead, 24 ounces of silver to the ton.
