Black Mata Ortiz pot--10" h x 9" diameter. Lucie Zete (Mata Ortiz, Oaxaca, Mexico) Black Earthenware Olla, 20th Century, the everted mouth over a short neck, over the large, globular body. Glazed with black glaze in patterns to the body. Lucie Zete lives in Mata Ortiz, Oaxaca, Mexico. Her earthenware pots are produced using the traditional black clay with black glaze produced at Casas Grandes and Mata Ortiz for centuries.
