Folds, dark toning and staining along edges. Located 5 miles east of Hugo in the Grants Pass District, Josephine County. According to History of Southern Oregon, Walling, 1884, it was owned by a group of mostly Southern Oregon men and "the works on and in the mine are believed to be the most extensive in the state, the aggregate length of shafts and tunnels being nearly 1,000 feet. A 10 stamp mill was erected in 1875. As of 1884, the mine was inactive since 1879. It appears to have been worked again later. .5" red spot.
